120-strong members of the Rwanda Diaspora Generation of Hope, Indangamirwa, yesterday visited former Rwandan refugees who returned from Tanzania now resettled in Rweru Bugesera.
Boniface Rucagu, Chairman of Itorero National Taskforce, accompanied the group.
"Such initiatives help bring Rwandans together, which is the main reason why Itorero was set up," Rucagu explained.
During the visit, the Diaspora group made 800 bricks that will be used for the construction of houses for the returnees. The group together with the returnees also took part in communal work (Umuganda) .
"As an association, our main objective is to give a hand in the development of the country. There is no need of waiting for help from other countries when we can take part in the development of our country," explained Samuel Dusabe, the Assistant Coordinator of the group.
Indangamirwa is an association of Diaspora students who attended Ingando at Gako between 17th July and 31st July 2011. They are under the Rwanda Diaspora Global Network (RDGN), an umbrella group of Rwanda Diaspora associations, who, together with Rwanda Red Cross, facilitated the visit.
