Collection of images showing the Itorero training organized for 300 Rwandans studying abroad. "The role of youth in Rwanda's agenda to self-reliance" was the theme for this Itorero group called "Indangamirwa VI". Historically Itorero was a school where Rwandans learnt about the nation's culture in the areas of language, patriotism, social relations, sports, dancing, songs and defense of the nation. Today Itorero has been revised as a civic education program where young Rwandans can learn about culture, values, history, unity, integrity and patriotism.
Since its reintroduction into Rwandan society, the program has been completed by close to 250,000 people. To learn more about Itorero, click here.
